Piano Trio (1997/2005) for violin, cello and piano. 9 minutes.
First performance: Reykjavík 2002, Trio Nordica.
This one-movement trio deals with transitions or jumps from the aethereal to the solid, using symmetrical rhythms and movements which converge and diverge. Within its brief span this work contains a variety of different gestures, including a “cadenza” for violin, and dramatic ostinato passages for the full trio.
“An excellent and outspoken new work.” Morgunblaðið newspaper (Iceland), August 2002.
